Be prepared for cold weather
As cold weather approaches storm readiness is a must! Here are some steps to help you get your house and surroundings ready:

Smoke Detectors
It is important to check your smoke detectors on a regular basis. Even if you have just replaced the batteries, it is a good idea to go through these steps to insure that your smoke detector, electric or battery operated, is working properly.
1. Light a candle
2. Place it under the detector and blow it out.
3. The smoke from the candle should set off the detector. If it does not set it off, than the smoke detector may not be working properly. Please contact the office immediately if you discover any faulty detectors.
Remember, taking the easy steps now may keep your family safe in the future.
Helpful Tips
*Be sure not to put anything against the furnaces or hot water tank.
*If garbage disposal is not working properly use a broom stick handle to manually turn the blades, then push reset button. Do not put hand down to turn the blades.
*When using self cleaning ovens be sure to scrape all food off of the oven walls and do not use any cleaner.
*Make sure dishes are wiped off and have no food on them when putting in dishwasher. The food will clog up the drain.
